Continuing a long tradition of wonderful jazz saxophone quartet recordings FOUR adds trumpet, trombone, piano, guitar, bass and drums for a smorgasbord of new tunes by the amazing composer, Mark Watkins.

FOUR is Mark Watkins, soprano saxophone; Ray Smith, alto saxophone; Sandon Mayhew, tenor saxophone; and Jon Gudmundson, baritone saxophone.

They are joined by Derrick Gardner, trumpet (Count Basie Band); Vincent Gardner, trombone (lead trombone with the Lincoln Center Jazz Orchestra); Justin Nielsen, piano; Corey Christiansen, guitar; Braun Kahn, bass; and Kobie Watkins, drums (Sonny Rollins).

The tunes are significantly different from each other and offer a varied tour of styles with the inventive twist of Mark Watkins. Perhaps it should be noted that Mark wrote and recorded the tunes after he went completely blind. This is one unique recording not to be missed in the plethora of new recordings coming out.

Bob Anderson has been known as the great impersonator sounding convincingly like Frank Sinatra, Tony Bennett, Dean Martin, Sammy Davis Jr., and the like, but today Anderson wants you to hear his own amazing voice and know him as Bob Anderson instead of the great impersonator. Despite innumerable performances on nearly every stage in every major city in 30 countries on 5 continents, this album is the first time he has been heard purely as himself, and his own voice is actually his best voice.

Jack Wood has been a jazz singer in the L.A. Music Scene for many years and has recorded with the best of the best supporting musicians and writers. (See more on Jack Wood in his artist bio.) This album is a compilation of some of his best material. Jack heard Nichaud Fitzgibbon on a YouTube recording of Sugar and knew he would like to collaborate with her. This is a challenge since she is one of the premier singers in Australia, but in the near future they will release an album of vocal duets on tunes from the movies. He would like to begin introducing her to the United States by featuring her on three tracks on this CD.
