In mathematics, a lemma is a supporting proposition, a statement that prepares the ground for something larger. Four Lemmas is an eight track concept suite organized as four lemmas and their corollaries. Each is anchored in a mathematical idea, orthogonality, sparsity, local maxima, and stable equilibrium, used not as technical argument but as conceptual framework. The music is not derived from equations. The compositions develop from groove, melody, and vocal line. The mathematical language functions as a lens for interpreting emotional and identity based themes that emerge through the writing process. The project explores coherence through contrast, reduction, ascent, and return. Mathematics provides structure as metaphor. Music carries the experience. The instrumentation, voice, piano, bass, drums, and trumpet, establishes a focused sonic palette. The voice moves between speech and song. The lyrics articulate the central ideas, while the music supports and contextualizes them. The album unfolds in four movements.
